Frequently Asked Questions
What is Solver Pet Medical Insurance?
What benefits does Solver Pet Medical Insurance offer?
It covers veterinary treatments and surgeries for accidental injury and illnesses ranging from minor problems such as ear infections and bee stings to major conditions such as broken bones, diabetes and cancer. We also provide cover towards preventative care such as vaccinations, sterilisation of your pet, flea, tick and worm control and teeth cleaning.
How does the Solver Pet Medical Insurance work?
Once your Vet has treated your Pet, simply send in a Solver Pet Medical Insurance Claim Form along with your Vet’s detailed invoice and proof of payment. The benefit and value is then calculated and Solver Pet Medical Insurance sends payment directly to you. It is as simple as that.
What is not covered?
Like most insurance policies, we have some exclusions to help keep your premiums low. These include: pregnancy, elective procedures, foods/diets, grooming, hereditary and congenital defects, and pre-existing conditions that showed clinical signs before taking out the insurance.
Can my pet visit any Vet I choose?
Are there any age limits for the insurance?
When will my policy start?
All our policies start on the 1st day of the month. We do not pro-rate.
New application received by the 5th of the month will start on the 1st of that month.
New application received after the 5th of the month will start on the 1st of the following month.
When can I claim?
You may make a claim for accidents, illnesses and routine care which arise one calendar month after your pet’s start date. Cruciate Ligament Claims have a six month waiting period.

Does Solver Pet Medical Insurance offer benefits towards preventative treatment?
Yes, we recommend and encourage responsible pet ownership. This includes sterilising your pet, annual vaccination etc. A contribution towards these benefits is provided by the Routine Care Cover.
Does my pet have to have a microchip or tattoo to claim?
Microchipping is not a requirement on your policy, however, it is an integral part of identifying your fur-kid at a veterinary institution should they get lost, and we absolutely advocate microchipping.
